High side wagons are a type of freight wagon characterized by having no roof and, typically, sides that extend above the floor to a height of 1.979 meters. These freight wagons, with a carrying capacity of approximately 68 tons, are suitable for transporting bulk cargo and mineral rocks.

The body of a high side wagon includes a flat, reinforced floor and tall side walls made of steel sheets. The primary function of these side walls is to prevent cargo from falling during transit and to provide lateral protection for the goods.
